Manatt Advertising, Marketing and Media Partner Po Yi and Digital and Technology Consulting Senior Manager David Frisbey will speak at the NIL Summit, to be held in Atlanta, Georgia, on June 4, 2023. Po will speak on a panel session titled, “Protecting Your Student-Athletes,” and David will speak on the “Balancing School Involvement And Athlete Autonomy In NIL” panel.

The NIL Summit, built by student-athletes and for student-athletes, is an immersive multi-day professional development experience and gathering place for college sports’ most important stakeholders to share cutting-edge ideas, discover new interests and learn how to maximize NIL opportunities to build their brands and amplify their voices. The “Protecting Your Student-Athlete” panel, sponsored by Manatt, will discuss how universities can identify whether individuals and organizations have the best interests of their student-athletes in mind, while also ensuring that the institutions remain protected. The “Balancing School Involvement And Athlete Autonomy In NIL” panel will focus on how administrators and coaches can ensure that their employer’s best interests are protected regardless of what their state law says, or doesn’t say, when it comes to working with third-party entities who are engaging in transactions with their student-athletes.
