In his latest Entrepreneur column feature, Manatt Consulting Managing Director Kalon Gutierrez explored how startups can take advantage of the ongoing big tech layoffs to attract and retain newly available talent.
In the article, Gutierrez noted that talent wars for highly qualified employees still do exist, and start-ups are uniquely positioned to leverage this growing talent pool. He offered them the following advice:
- Embrace hybrid and remote work environments
- Create a collaborative and flexible co-working space
- Offer liberal equity packages and clearly define vesting schedules
- Create and communicate vision, mission and values that stand for something different
- Be purposeful in hiring
