States are actively pursuing various coverage options for uninsured individuals who need COVID-19 testing and treatment. Available coverage options vary based on an individual’s income and immigration status and whether a state has expanded Medicaid or not. Federal legislation also includes other targeted funding to help support healthcare providers responding to the pandemic.
In a new toolkit prepared with the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation’s State Health and Value Strategies program, Manatt Health provides for states an overview of various coverage pathways for individuals, including those who are uninsured and in need of COVID-19 testing and treatment. The toolkit provides varying pathways for Medicaid expansion and non-expansion states.
