As countries, states, municipalities, health plans and providers increasingly design programs to address social determinants of health (SDOH) and seek to measure their programs’ impacts, the need for reliable, standardized and secure data grows. Particularly in light of COVID-19, stakeholders are especially interested in how to address unmet social needs, support individuals in safely complying with social distancing guidance and address racial health disparities.
At “A Policy Perspective: Coordinating Systems to Address Social Determinants of Health,” a new webinar presented by the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society, Manatt Health director Liz Osius will offer an overview of the important role data and health IT play in supporting SDOH initiatives and moderate a discussion among government officials, who will also share key considerations in leveraging SDOH data and highlight innovative best practices in these areas, in addition to exploring the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on their efforts to date.
