Carson Quoted in Daily Journal About Effect of SB 763 on California's Antitrust Law Penalties

Manatt Antitrust and Competition Partner  was quoted in Daily Journal discussing SB 763—California’s main antitrust law—and recent efforts to increase penalties that could give the state new tools to pursue mergers and corporate collusion. The numbers proposed in SB 763 closely mimic the penalties in the federal Sherman Antitrust Act, and if the legislation is passed, it would be among the strongest state-level penalties in the country, according to Carson. “California historically has been one of the more aggressive states at the forefront of enforcing states antitrust laws,” he said.
