Boozang Quoted in Axios About How States May React to Potential Medicaid Funding Cuts

Manatt Health Senior Managing Director  was quoted in Axios on how states may be impacted by potential cuts in federal Medicaid funding by the new administration. 

If Congress passes the proposals to reduce federal Medicaid spending, states will likely have to cover a larger portion of costs, according to the article. As they create their new budgets, state officials are waiting intently to see if the proposals go through, noted Boozang, especially since some matters in the discussion could “change states' budget pictures and really require legislators to come together to figure out ... what else can they do,“ Boozang said. ”All of that is just an unknown." States which have invested in Medicaid over the years, regardless of their political stance, have not shown to be walking back these investments so far, she added.
