Manatt Employment and Labor Leader Esra Hudson was quoted in a Law360 article on the California Supreme Court's decision to uphold Proposition 22.
Proposition 22, which allows gig companies to classify certain app-based drivers as independent contractors, was recently upheld in a unanimous decision by the court. Although future legislative changes to the proposition are possible, Hudson said the ruling is “the ultimate win. It upholds the initiative that they backed."
