A Manatt team led by Entertainment partner Monika Tashman represented influential psychedelic-pop icons The Zombies in the acquisition of their rights to their 1960’s recording catalog. After 60 years, the band secured their catalog rights from Marquis Enterprises Ltd., the independent UK production company they originally signed with in 1964, underscoring a rare achievement for creators in the music industry. The newly formed partnership entity between the four remaining band members and Helen Atkinson, the widow of late guitarist Paul Atkinson, Zombies Partners LLP will house the band’s shared interests in their recordings, merchandise and life-rights. The deal includes their hit singles “She’s Not There,” “Tell Her No,” and “Time of The Season,” as well as the 1968 album Odessey & Oracle.
The Manatt team also included Corporate and Finance partner Scott Schwartz and associate Darren Bartlette.
