Manatt Health Partner Cindy Mann spoke with Bloomberg on renewed Medicaid eligibility checks and what it means for low-income Americans attempting to enroll in the safety net insurance program. After Congress sent extra funds to states to support their Medicaid programs during the pandemic, millions of individuals may be left uninsured as eligibility reviews resume for the first time in two years. “There’s a high risk of people losing coverage, notwithstanding the fact that they’re likely to be eligible,” Mann commented. As many as 15 million people risk losing Medicaid once the verification process resumes.
