Members of Manatt’s digital and technology transactions team, led by Ned Sherman, structured and negotiated the latest high-profile deal in the games industry for esports company XSET, building a partnership with the chart-topping Puerto Rican singer Ozuna, whose hits include “Taki Taki” and whose social media following consists of over 43 million fans. The new partnership—in which Ozuna joins XSET as an investor, managing partner and content creator—is the most substantial partnership the company has made with an individual artist to date.
As part of the partnership, Ozuna will be streaming games such as FIFA and Fortnite for XSET as well as dropping merchandise and NFTs in partnership with the company. XSET will also host a games activation at Ozuna Cancun Fest, a four-day beachfront event that will take place in November.
Manatt is thrilled to be a part of this exciting development, which proves the worlds of music, business and games are rapidly intersecting, and to represent the world’s fastest-growing lifestyle games organization in this industry-shaping deal.
The Manatt deal team also included digital and technology transactions associate Bea Hinton.
