Leader of Manatt's Employment and Labor practice Esra Hudson spoke with Bloomberg Law about vaccine exemptions for healthcare workers. Hudson said the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) has provided robust guidance on religious exemptions to the vaccine to exclude personal, political and social claims. “Employment is a very active area for litigation. And whenever there is a new set of regulations and compliance requirements, additional litigation is a possibility. This is also a hotly debated public issue, which is another reason that litigation could result from employers’ decisions,” said Esra A. Hudson, a partner and leader of the employment and labor practice at Manatt, Phelps & Phillips LLP.
