Manatt Health partner Kinda Serafi was quoted in Quartz on how states are accounting for the influx of Medicaid patients using telehealth services in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. In the article, Serafi particularly notes how strict Medicaid program requirements are contradicting the social distancing benefits of telehealth, saying, “in order for the patient to get telehealth services they have to be in another provider’s office, which doesn’t work in a COVID-19, pandemic-type situation.”
