Manatt Health managing director Brenda Pawlak spoke with Healthcare Financial Management Association about the unknowns that remain for hospitals under a Biden Administration’s healthcare policies. In particular, Pawlak details the uncertainties that exist if Biden reinstitutes stay-at-home orders and bans on elective procedures due to the ongoing COVID-19 public health crisis. She notes that due to the impact of the last ban on elective procedures, many patients have not resumed receiving care for either chronic or acute issues, further commenting that “this delay of care will be exacerbated by future shutdowns combined with the potential for some providers to fold.”
