Leader of Manatt Entertainment’s transactions and finance practice Jordan Bromley spoke with Daily Journal about the effect that the COVID-19 pandemic has had and may continue to have on companies and individuals that rely on income from events. Specifically, he discussed the impact that the disqualification of COVID-19 on most event insurance plans since January 21, 2020 has had on his clients. In the article, Bromley noted that he and his colleagues have been trying to help shield their clients from the full-scale financial harm of COVID-19 and brace for impact where they know they can’t. Part of that means beefing up the force majeure clauses of their contracts: “We want to get our clients ahead on mitigation of expenses and protection on the downside,” Bromley said.
