Leader of Manatt Entertainment’s transaction and finance practice Jordan Bromley was quoted extensively on the proposed amendments to California’s Assembly Bill 5 that will provide relief to the vast majority of music professionals affected by employment-related obstacles presented by the original bill. In Variety, who first reported the news of the proposed changes, Bromley discussed the importance of these pending amendments, saying “by reclassifying our economy of independent contractors into employees, the law ran the risk of making an employer of every independent artist making music in their basement, or garage band making ends meet to succeed in music.”
