As reported by Variety, Manatt’s W. Joseph Anderson, an attorney in the firm’s entertainment practice, and Jordan Bromley, leader of the firm's entertainment transactions and finance practice, are representing songwriters Shane Stevens and Karyn Rochelle, who will write the music and lyrics for an untitled country musical for Paramount Players.
The film “centers on the daughter of a wealthy family who goes on a journey of self-discovery after she leaves the boy everyone expected her to marry for a small-town country guy who captures her heart,” according to Variety.
Producers developing the film and album include Matthew Gross, producer of the Beatles musical Across the Universe, and Mark Bright, a country music super-producer who has worked with Rascal Flatts, Carrie Underwood and others.
