Manatt’s Ronald Blum, a partner in the litigation practice, and associates Joshua Drian and Ethan Roman represented Eventvest in resolving a nearly two-year investigation and parallel litigation with the New York Attorney General. Eventvest does business as Ticket Galaxy, a leading secondary market ticket distribution company.
At issue was the sale of so-called “speculative tickets,” a common practice whereby ticket resellers secure tickets only after receiving orders from customers.
During the investigation, Manatt commenced a lawsuit against the Attorney General seeking a judgment declaring that Ticket Galaxy’s business practices complied with New York law. After active litigation, including motion practice, Manatt secured a favorable settlement for its client.
