Manatt’s Jack Quinn, a partner in the government and regulatory group, spoke to CNN about the recent release of the Mueller Report and its potential implications for President Donald Trump.
On April 18, the Department of Justice released a full version of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s report on alleged collusion between Russia and President Trump in the 2016 presidential election.
Quinn said that he disagrees with tactics allegedly used by President Trump to end the investigation while it was being conducted last year.
“You cannot exercise presidential powers corruptly,” he said. “There’s nothing more corrupt than exercising your presidential powers in order to protect yourself from a legitimate law enforcement investigation.
