Manatt Health senior manager Jared Augenstein spoke with FierceHealthcare on a recently released white paper from Manatt Health outlining a framework for calculating a telehealth program’s return on investment. Augenstein, who co-authored the paper, noted that the framework goes beyond just direct reimbursement revenue. “Reimbursements tend to get a lot of attention but, in my view, it’s a bit of a red herring in terms of the overall economics of telehealth programs,” he said. “Reimbursement is a small piece of the financial puzzle.”
