Manatt’s Bruce Gyory, a senior advisor in the firm’s government and regulatory practice, was interviewed by City & State New York for an article on New York State’s race for attorney general.
Leecia Eve, Letitia James, Sean Patrick Maloney and Zephyr Teachout are running to become New York’s next attorney general. The publication noted that both James and Teachout are emphasizing their independent status in their campaigns, while the campaign strategies of Maloney and Eve are less well defined.
“Leecia Eve can do very well in Buffalo, but she doesn't have the support of the very popular four-term mayor and state chair, Byron Brown, nor the very popular local assemblywoman, Crystal Peoples-Stokes, who seconded the nomination of James at the convention,” said Gyory.
