Manatt’s Patricia Boozang, a senior managing director with our Manatt Health team, was interviewed by The Washington Post about the ballot initiative to expand Medicaid in certain states.
Voters in red states Idaho, Utah and Nebraska will have the opportunity to voice their opinions through a ballot initiative on whether Medicaid should expand coverage to hundreds of thousands of people, noted the publication. In another red state, Montana, voters will have the chance to extend the health program’s expansion or allow it to expire next year.
Boozang said that the biggest issue on the ballot when it comes to Medicaid expansion is the state’s share of the costs; that’s what made expansion a hot-button issue in states such as Maine, which voted via ballot initiative last year to pass Medicaid expansion.
