Manatt’s Jack Quinn, a partner in the firm’s government and regulatory practice, was interviewed by CNN’s Don Lemon to discuss a judge’s ruling that President Donald Trump can be deposed in a defamation lawsuit brought by Summer Zervos.
Lemon asked Quinn how this deposition could impact other cases that President Trump is involved in, including Robert Mueller’s investigation and the Stormy Daniels lawsuit.
“The first thing that comes to mind is that the president can entertain trouble if he’s not truthful in providing that testimony,” Quinn explained. “Remember, that’s what tripped up President Clinton when he perjured himself in connection with the Paula Jones litigation.”
