Indiana Expects Green Light for Medicaid Work Requirements January 11, 2018 State Expects Green Light to Require Some Medicaid Recipients to Work, but Change May Draw Legal Challenge – Indianapolis Star Manatt’s Patricia Boozang, a senior managing director with Manatt Health, was interviewed by the Indianapolis Star for an article on the potential implementation of Medicaid work requirements for some recipients in Indiana. Boozang explained that the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services is testing the hypothesis that work requirements promote general health, well-being and economic independence. However, CMS is also imposing strict parameters that will create significant administrative complexity and cost for states that choose the option.
