CNN Tonight’s Don Lemon interviewed Manatt’s Jack Quinn, a partner in the firm’s government and regulatory practice, on whether President Trump will testify before special prosecutor Robert Mueller.
Quinn explained that while it is likely that Trump will provide information to the investigation in some way, the question is how his counsel will advise him to do so.
“From the Nixon era and on, it’s quite clear from the Supreme Court and other courts that in balancing the president’s constitutional needs for confidentiality against the duty he and others have to protect the integrity of the administration, he is not going to be able to withstand requests for information and testimony,” said Quinn.
