Manatt’s Lisa Suennen, an incoming managing director with our Manatt Health team, was interviewed in a MedCity News article about healthcare startups that have grown and crashed this past year.
The publication listed startups Driver, Lantern, CareSync, CloudMine and Theranos as failures and detailed reasons why the companies were not able to push through and succeed like other companies that secured funding and brought new products to the market.
Suennen said that one reason for failure is spending too much money before identifying a market and product market fit, and added that in the medical world, startups using a direct-to-consumer approach struggle since few consumers want to invest time and money in their healthcare
