Manatt’s Benjamin Shatz, co-chair of the firm’s appellate practice, was interviewed by Metropolitan News-Enterprise for an article on Governor Jerry Brown’s pick for the California Supreme Court.
The publication noted that the outgoing governor selected Joshua Groban, his senior advisor who oversaw nearly 600 of the administration’s judicial appointments, as the next California Supreme Court justice.
“Josh is an outstanding choice for the Supreme Court. Having advised the governor in transforming the California Courts of Appeal for many years, he is intimately familiar with the qualities and characteristics necessary to be an effective justice,” said Shatz.
