Manatt’s Bruce Gyory, a senior advisor in the firm’s government and regulatory practice, was interviewed by Spectrum News for an article on Governor Andrew Cuomo’s re-election campaign.
The publication examined the potential impact of campaign donations and Cuomo’s vocal criticism of President Trump’s policies, noting that Cuomo’s father, the late Mario Cuomo, used similar tactics in opposing President Reagan.
“His father was able to do that very well[,] even though Ronald Reagan was a far more popular figure in New York than Donald Trump is, but Mario Cuomo was able to score points off of standing in opposition to Reagan,” said Gyory.
