Manatt’s Bruce Gyory, a senior advisor in the firm’s government and regulatory practice, was interviewed by The Capitol Pressroom to discuss the debate for New York’s gubernatorial Democratic primary election.
The news outlet discussed what could be expected from the debate between current Governor Andrew Cuomo and his opponent, Cynthia Nixon, as they face off in the race for the Democratic primary nod, noting that Cuomo carries the lead in polls and will use his experience as a talking point.
“Right now, I think the race is favoring the governor, that’s all the polling data shows, you know. If she [Nixon] succeeds in getting him to blow up and caricature as a bully, she could have a spur, perhaps not to win, but to beat expectations, so that’ll be something to watch,” said Gyory.
