Manatt’s Benjamin Shatz, co-chair of the firm’s appellate practice, spoke with the Daily Journal for an article on Mariano-Florentino Cuéllar’s presence in the California Supreme Court.
The publication examined Cuéllar’s background, experience in the federal government and areas of capability, and noted that he has been involved in a wide range of fields including cyberlaw and artificial intelligence, public health and international law and immigration.
Shatz said that Cuéllar’s expertise made him a standout so much so that he was considered a candidate for the U.S. Supreme Court in 2016.
