Manatt today announced that Donna Wilson, co-chair of the firm’s financial services litigation and enforcement practice, has been selected to be inducted as a Fellow into the prestigious American College of Consumer Financial Services Lawyers, a professional association of lawyers particularly skilled and experienced in handling consumer financial services matters. The induction ceremony will take place on April 8 in New Orleans.
Nationally recognized for her work by The Legal 500, Wilson represents financial institutions, retailers, auto finance companies and other commercial clients in consumer protection–related and financial services disputes. She also helps mitigate risks associated with data security, information governance and privacy. A seasoned trial lawyer, Wilson defends companies in consumer class and individual actions, advocating for clients facing government enforcement actions related to state and federal consumer protection statutes.
Founded in 1996, the College brings together qualified members of the profession who, by reason of their character, skill and ability, will contribute to the accomplishments and good fellowship of the College. Membership in the College is by invitation only and limited to those lawyers who have achieved preeminence in the field of consumer financial services law.
College President Jeffrey Langer congratulated Wilson on her election, recognizing her “substantial contributions to the promotion of learning and scholarship” in consumer financial services law.
In addition to co-chairing the financial services litigation and enforcement practice, Wilson is chair of Manatt’s privacy and data security practice.
She is recognized by professional publications for leadership. Most recently, Wilson was named one of the “Most Influential Lawyers in White Collar and Cyber Crime” by the Los Angeles Business Journal, and as one of the “Top Women Litigators in California” by the Daily Journal.
