Los Angeles Times Cites Manatt Health Study on ACA Repeal

Under Senate’s Obamacare Repeal, Some Americans Would Have to Pay More Than Their Total Income for Health Coverage
– Los Angeles Times

The Los Angeles Times cited Manatt Health’s recent study in an article which discussed the increased premiums that Americans may face under Senate Republican healthcare proposals. The study, by Manatt Health partner Deborah Bachrach and Manatt Health senior managing director Patricia Boozang, concluded that for many low-income families, premiums and deductibles combined could cost more than their total incomes.

“When Manatt crunched the numbers,” cited the Los Angeles Times, “it found that for households with income below 75% of the poverty level, or $18,450 for a family of four, the average of premiums, deductibles and other out-of-pocket expenses would reach 104% of the total income -- even after the premium subsidies.”
