Hoyen TV interviewed Manatt’s Joel Ario, a managing director with Manatt Health, for an article about the Trump administration’s attempt to overhaul the Affordable Care Act.
Following the failure of the GOP’s plan to replace the ACA, Republican lawmakers may be looking for alternative options. Doing away with the Obama-era health law would cause an estimated 14 million people to lose their healthcare insurance by next year, according to an assessment by the non-partisan Congressional Budget Office.
"This would have to be for 2019 at the earliest," said Ario. "So with that being the case, I don't know if politically there's an appetite to unwind it."
