Inside Health Policy interviewed Manatt’s Jocelyn Guyer, a managing director with Manatt Health, for an article on the Senate Republican’s draft healthcare bill. In its current form, the Senate bill makes Medicaid cuts easier for states to handle in the short term, but more drastic in the out years.
Guyer pointed out that most states will have to drop people from their rolls once the enhanced Medicaid expansion funding starts going down. Eight states already have legislative triggers that will end expansion once the higher levels of funding for those beneficiaries drops.
