Associated Press Quotes Joel Ario on Healthcare.gov's Back-End Issues

December 2, 2013 - The Associated Press interviewed Manatt's Joel Ario, a managing director with Manatt Health Solutions, on what the new focus for Healthcare.gov should be.

As reported by the Associated Press, the consumer-facing front end of the federal health insurance website, Healthcare.gov, is working noticeably better. Administration officials projected renewed confidence, announcing on December 2  that the site got 375,000 visits by noon. However, fixes continue on the back-end of the system. Private insurers complain that much of the enrollment information they're getting on individual consumers is practically useless, corrupted by errors, duplications or garbles. The industry is growing increasingly concerned, as the progress to resolve this has been slow.

"There really needs to be an intense focus now on the back end of the process," said Ario.
