Founded in 1972, CAAL is an election-only organization dedicated to excellence in the California appellate practice. The academy offers multiple member events throughout the year including its annual winter meeting, which this year is taking place on Saturday, January 25, 2025. On the first panel, Benjamin will be joined by Justice Brian M. Hoffstadt and Justice Dorothy C. Kim to analyze the effects of new appellate rules and case law developments shaping California’s & the Ninth Circuit’s legal landscape in 2024. On the second panel, Benjamin will moderate a discussion between Justices Rashida Adams, Michael Raphael, and Victor Viramontes on how Justices’ approach and ultimately decide case outcomes.
