Manatt Partner and Director of Pro Bono Sirena Castillo will be speaking on an HIAS panel titled “The Benefits and Pitfalls of Temporary Immigrant Relief” on November 15, 2023.

The panel will discuss why the Biden administration is relying on “humanitarian parole” and Temporary Protected Status, the benefits and pitfalls of these forms of legal relief, who has been left out, and what can be done to ensure more equitable access to the immigration system moving forward.

HIAS is a nonprofit group providing vital services to refugees and asylum seekers around the world and advocates for their fundamental rights so they can rebuild their lives. The group helps more than one million people annually in more than 20 countries.
