Manatt was pleased to sponsor the Armenian Bar Association’s Public Servants Dinner held at the Yale Club in New York City on April 25, 2019. The event was attended by over 280 public officials, judges and lawyers. Richard Hartunian, partner in Manatt’s investigations and white collar defense practice, served as the event’s co-chair. Hartunian was honored at the association’s first Public Servants Dinner in 2018.
During the event, Hartunian introduced Deputy Attorney General of the Department of Justice Rod J. Rosenstein, an award recipient, who provided remarks that were widely reported in the press, including CNN and Politico.
Robert H. Tebeckjian, the administrator and counsel to the New York State Commission on Judicial Conduct, was the evening’s other award recipient and he too delivered a press-worthy speech, noting the challenges faced by public servants in the current political environment.
Also in attendance were current U.S. attorneys Geoff Berman (SDNY), Richard Donoghue (EDNY) and Grant Jaquith (NDNY), as well as former U.S. attorneys Conner Eldridge (AK), Melinda Haag (CA), Steve Dettelbach (OH), Tristram Coffin (VT), Tim Purdon (ND) and John Walsh (CO).
The event was described by Association President Gerard Kassabian as “successful beyond our highest hopes.”
The Armenian Bar Association was formed in 1989 to provide an arena for Armenian lawyers to come together to address the legal concerns within the Armenian community.
