On Oct. 18, Manatt will host a CLE-eligible breakfast and briefing in the New York City office, featuring a compelling panel discussion with outside and general counsel on this year’s top litigation and enforcement trends.
Healthcare fraud remains a key target for the Department of Justice (DOJ), making up a significant number of cases pursued by DOJ every year. In 2017, DOJ recovered more than $3.7 billion from civil cases involving fraud and false claims against the government; of that, $2.4 billion involved the healthcare industry—the eighth consecutive year in which settlements and judgments have exceeded $2 billion. Clearly, healthcare organizations continue to face intense scrutiny.
What lessons can be gleaned from recent litigation pursued by DOJ? In a dynamic panel discussion, Manatt thought leaders and general counsels representing the payer, provider and life sciences segments of the healthcare industry will analyze recent fraud and abuse cases, unpacking the facts and dissecting lessons learned. This program has been approved for New York CLE credit.
