Manatt Privacy and Data Security Partner Brandon Reilly was recognized by Daily Journal as a 2022 Top Cyber Lawyer alongside a number of industry pioneers.
Particularly, Reilly was honored for his accomplishments in the cybersecurity and privacy space and his role in expertly navigating major cybersecurity threats, such as the recent threats posed by a widespread computer bug from the Java programming language. "My role at its highest level is to mitigate risk," Reilly explained, "so the first job was to investigate whether the vulnerability affected existing clients’ ecosystems. Then we checked to see how clients were communicating to customers and partners to inspire trust.”
In his profile, Daily Journal also recognized Reilly's critical role in developing California Consumer Privacy Act compliance frameworks for businesses of all sizes and industries. “Data breaches have made these high times for privacy and data security work,” Reilly said. “We have advised as many as 100 clients this year on these issues and on CCPA. Our practice is growing as the costs and risks of data security compliance become clearer.”
