Variety named Manatt’s Lindsay Conner, co-chair of the firm’s entertainment and media practice, and partner Sophia Yen to its 2018 Dealmakers Impact Report.
This prestigious annual list distinguishes groundbreakers in the entertainment industry, putting the spotlight on lawyers who hold renowned clients, negotiate deals that shape Hollywood and manage the business affairs of major agencies and networks.
Conner has been named to the list for five consecutive years, and Yen for two. Conner’s major accounts include AT&T/DirecTV, Michael Eisner’s Torrante Co. and private investors in New Republic Pictures and Solstice Studios, and Yen’s roster includes FilmRise, Brazil’s O2 Filmes and China’s Spring Era Films. Variety also cited companies they both advise, listing Sony Pictures Entertainment, China’s Perfect World Pictures and East West Bank.
In describing developments in the entertainment industry with the rise of new content, deal templates and more, Conner said that “lawyers are business guides as well as legal guides in educating international suppliers about the Hollywood entertainment industry.”
