Manatt’s Jordan Bromley, a partner in the firm’s music practice, was named to Variety’s annual list of “Hollywood’s New Leaders” for 2017. Each year, the publication profiles the most prominent up-and-comers in the entertainment business who are under the age of 40. Bromley is one of only seven attorneys to be recognized this year.
To determine this year’s list, Variety looked for go-getters across multiple disciplines and measured each candidate by the trajectory of their careers. “While it’s hard to pinpoint the ‘it’ factor,” the publication noted, “these folks embody that intangible.”
Variety explained that Bromley works with a stable list of clients including the Eagles, Major Lazer, Cold War Kids and the estates of John Lee Hooker and Dan Fogelberg, negotiating multi-million-dollar label, publishing and touring deals. What sets Bromley apart, however, is his “moneymaking know-how” in the streaming music space.
“Streaming is now a market leader in music consumption and will only continue to grow, and actually completely revitalize our business,” Bromley told Variety, “and maybe make it bigger than it ever was.”
