In its April 20, 2016 edition, the Daily Journal recognized Manatt partners Timi Hallem, Susan Hori and Donna Wilson as Top Women Lawyers in California for 2016. Only 100 lawyers statewide were named to the annual Top Women Lawyers list.
Hallem, a partner in the firm's Real Estate and Land Use practice, was honored for the second year in the publication. She was also included in the 2014 list of Top Women Lawyers. The Daily Journal featured her work with Lowe Enterprises in Orange County and San Diego. The Orange County project is a mixed-use development of the 100-acre former Marine Corps Air Station, which Hallem said "needs to be modernized."
In its profile of Hori, also a partner in the firm's Real Estate and Land Use practice, the publication featured for many deals over the past year. The publication focused on Hori's work involving water, such as deals with Niagara Bottling, Newport Banning Ranch and Poseidon Resources. Poseidon seeks a coastal development permit for a $1 billion desalination facility that could provide water to 200,000 households.
The Daily Journal profiled Wilson, chair of the firm's Privacy and Data Security practice, for her defense of a wide range of companies. The publication featured her work that focuses on protecting companies from phishing and spoofing schemes. "My practice reflects the changing nature of outside counsel. I'm not a drive-by litigator. I try to offer a value-add that is more nuanced," Wilson said.
