Since 2007, the Working Mother and Flex-Time Lawyers "Best Law Firms" initiative has recognized U.S. law firms that have developed the best practices in retaining and promoting women lawyers. The selected firms have demonstrated leadership in the profession by supporting flexible work arrangements and strengthening women's representation and influence in the highest ranks. The law firms were selected based on hard data, including the percentage of female representation in associate and partner ranks, compensation, and a record of female advancement.
