This past July 21 the Court of Arbitration for Sport, a/k/a the Supreme Court of Sport, issued an important media release: “The Court of Arbitration for Sport Rejects the claims/appeal of the Russian Olympic Committee and of 68 Russian Athletes.” The full arbitral award, which includes the all-important grounds for the decision, was not issued. The last paragraph of the release states that “The full Arbitral Award, including the grounds for the Panel’s decision, will be issued as soon as possible.” As of today, that has not happened. This article will discuss why that is a serious problem.
