Sixteen more indictments were handed down today relating to FIFA, the very powerful, wealthy and allegedly corrupt body which controls international soccer. Separately-very separately-FIFA announced reforms to combat corruption, which raises the question whether FIFA is capable of reforming itself, given its infamous problems and the fact that the "reformers" have been a part of the organization.
Today's indictments are far from trivial, including 92 counts of alleged criminal behavior. The U.S. Department of Justice also announced that there were eight new guilty pleas in the cases that were filed by the Department of Justice last May.
