Christopher Dayans is a partner in the venture capital and emerging companies practice and is based in the firm’s San Francisco office. His practice includes representing private companies and entrepreneurs in venture finance, mergers and acquisitions, and other general corporate matters. He regularly guides venture-backed companies through all stages of the complex corporate life cycle, from formation to funding to exit. Additionally, Chris advises fintech, blockchain and digital asset companies, as well as investors in those companies, in matters relating to formation and fundraising.
Experienced in complex mergers and acquisitions, Chris represents both buyers and sellers in transactions across a broad range of industries, including entertainment, digital and technology, and retail. Examples of his recent work include advising owners of a major YouTube channel in their nine-figure sale to a global media company and advising a private equity firm in its $300+ million acquisition of a music catalog featuring songs by world-renowned artists.
Prior to joining Manatt, Chris worked as a corporate attorney at a law firm in San Francisco. He primarily served as counsel to emerging growth companies in venture capital financing transactions and midsize companies in mergers and acquisitions transactions. His work also included acting as general counsel for companies across a wide range of industries. Chris has also worked as a corporate associate at the Moscow offices of a global law firm.
