The Opportunity
The Pricing and Matter Analytics Manager, will oversee the various phases of the firm’s engagements, including budgeting, pricing, monitoring actuals against budget, and ensuring data integrity in our financial systems. This role will work closely with the Practice Management Directors to ensure firm engagements are properly reviewed and monitored to ensure they meet the firm’s profitability goals.
Responsibilities
Partner with Practice Management Directors and other firm professionals to create budgets and pricing recommendations for new and prospective engagements.
Support partners and business professionals across the firm by developing profitable, sustainable and relevant pricing solutions.
Provide consistent and proactive analysis on client financials to optimize profitability and predictability on matter results.
Work with key stakeholders, to support the development of strategic pricing solutions in response to client RFPs.
Assess budget on a routine basis to ensure efforts remain on track and identify solutions when off track.
Facilitate a partnership with the client arrangement team to ensure accurate data in financial systems for key engagements and update any changes to engagement details promptly.
Formulate analysis of appropriate billing information to guide Billing Partners in developing fee arrangement proposals.
Create and Maintain monthly reporting on client matter level metrics.
Collaborate with the business development team and other administrative units on reporting needs, including ad hoc reporting related to the firm’s engagements
Undertake financial modelling and analysis relating to clients and matters, including data mining, transformation, cleansing and reconciliation.
Work with managing professionals to identify engagements that are complete and can be closed in the financial systems.
Collaborate in the development and implementation of Industry Code and Matter Type coding systems to enhance the firm's understanding and analysis of its engagement portfolio.
Work together with the Financial Analysis team on presentations and forecasts with information on the firm’s key engagements.
Participate in the development of client/matter dashboards and reporting, ensuring data governance and integrity across all systems and platforms.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, or related field required. MBA a plus
Minimum of 5 years of legal pricing experience
Advanced Excel skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Professional Services Firm and Aderant experience a plus
Exceptional interpersonal skills including written and verbal communication with proven ability to work effectively with end users, peers and managers
Excellent analytical skills
Ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects effectively
Self-motivated and able to work successfully with minimal supervision
The base annual pay range for this role is between $120,000-$165,000. The base pay to be offered will vary and depend on skills and qualifications, experience, location and will also take into account internal equity. A full range of medical, financial and/or other benefits dependent on the position will also be offered.
