Bezalel Stern

Bez Stern is the rare advertising attorney who is as comfortable in the courtroom as he is at the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the National Advertising Division (NAD) and the National Advertising Review Board (NARB). At the FTC and the NAD, Bez has successfully advocated on behalf of leading telecommunications, tech and digital media, health and wellness, food and beverage, and retail companies. In addition to his advocacy work, Bez assists clients in substantiating their advertising and marketing claims.

In the courtroom, Bez defends leading brands in false advertising and class action litigation, including those involving automatic renewal laws, pricing disclosures and the Telephone Consumer Protection Act. Bez has successfully represented his clients at the district and appellate court level in state and federal court, and at the Supreme Court, where he successfully obtained a 9-0 reversal. His litigation advocacy extends from motion practice through oral argument and trial. While he is adept at winning on the papers, he has also prevailed for his clients through trials and appeals.

Bez is consistently able to analyze, identify and empathize with each client’s position. He is dedicated to balancing costs against results when it comes to dispute resolution, and has a keen understanding of the business implications of the legal process. An outstanding written and oral advocate who is valued for his clear and concise arguments, Bez is most appreciated by clients and colleagues for his resolute work ethic and unwavering optimism.

Bez is a dedicated pro bono advocate and has successfully represented several young immigrants who came to the United States without their parents, assisting them in obtaining Special Immigrant Juvenile Status.
