Jonathan Weiss is an associate in the tax, employee benefits and executive compensation practice group in the firm’s Los Angeles office. He evaluates and assesses a broad range of complicated tax issues, communicating and negotiating with federal, state and local governments, and researching and analyzing federal and state tax laws.
Before joining Manatt, Jonathan worked as a trusts and estates and tax attorney for a boutique tax law firm based in Los Angeles. There, he focused on tax and estate planning as well as asset planning for a diverse range of clients, including domestic and international businesses, nonprofit organizations, charitable foundations, and individuals. He also gained experience litigating and advising on tax matters involving the Internal Revenue Service, Franchise Tax Board, State Board of Equalization and Employment Development Department.
While in law school, Jonathan served as a judicial extern for the Honorable William V. Gallo of the United States District Court for the Southern District of California.
