John Meller is a partner in the Manatt Entertainment practice and is resident in the Los Angeles office. John is a transactional attorney with substantial experience representing iconic musicians, entertainers, athletes and leading entertainment companies.

John leverages his deep industry expertise and relationships to help his clients achieve their business goals, functioning not only as an attorney but as a trusted business advisor. He is well versed in the music business and the business of icons, including branding and endorsement deals, talent agreements for film and television, and high-value intellectual property acquisitions. On the talent side, John represents platinum recordings artists, a Heisman-winning athlete and influencers with seven-figure plus endorsement deals.

Before joining Manatt, John worked for several years as an attorney for a boutique intellectual property and entertainment law firm in Los Angeles. There, he drafted, revised and negotiated a wide variety of agreements related to media and intellectual property transactions, with an emphasis on music and branding agreements.
